ON SALE! ORIGINALLY $14 We were very glad to make the acquaintance of John Porcellino during his time here in San Francisco. Besides the fact that he’s a great guy, we had been fans of his zine King-Cat for many years. Having him in town got us brainstorming about how to collaborate with him on a project and the idea to do a calendar together was formed last year, but he was so busy with work on Thoreau at Walden (out next year on CCS/Hyperion) that we had to wait until this year. Even though we had to work via email as he’s now in Denver, it was certainly worth the wait! Through the Year with Gordon the Fox is not only going to make for good company through 2008, you’ll also have the images to keep as a mini-book when the year is over (we’ve designed it so that you can cut the dates off to follow Gordon any time—think of it as a little story or even perpetual calendar). John is a master at conveying a lot with a little and he captures the fleeting moments of the seasons with aplomb.
This spiral-bound calendar & mini-book was printed in Hayward, CA using vegetable-based inks on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. All the images are full-color and the dates cover January through December 2008. The pages measure 4 1/4” wide x 7 1/2” tall, and then 4 5/8” tall after you cut the dates off. There is a drill hole for easy wall mounting.
